2011 and 2012 will be CRUCIAL election years for the Republican Party. The 2010 election was not a mandate for the Republican Party. It was a message to Washington, DC that America wants REAL CHANGE from its leaders.
Ultimate goal: WIN BACK THE WHITE HOUSE IN 2012.
Republicans need a chairman who will/can:
1. Raise Money – With no money, there is no message and a hampered GOTV (Get Out The Vote) effort.
2. Recruit and support good candidates for the 2011 off-year elections in Virginia, Louisiana, Kentucky, Mississippi, and West Virginia
• Excerpt from Felicia Sonmez of the Washington Post – November 9, 2010
“So, the 2010 election is over. Let the 2011 elections begin!
Three states — Kentucky, Louisiana and Mississippi — will hold gubernatorial elections on Nov. 8, 2011. One of those states, Mississippi, will have an open-seat race, while in the other two, incumbent governors are seeking re-election.
There’s also the possibility of a 2011 special election in West Virginia, where Gov. Joe Manchin (D) is vacating the governor’s mansion following his election to the seat of the late Sen. Robert Byrd (D). State Senate President Earl Ray Tomblin (D) will become acting governor when Manchin resigns…there is currently debate over whether West Virginia law calls for a special election in 2011 or 2012.”
3. Welcome conservative activists (i.e. the Tea Party and other 3rd party groups) into the Republican Party and convince them that Republican candidates are the most quality choices for the 2011 and 2012 ballots.
4. Assemble a stellar communications team for effective messaging and new media strategy that will engage the GOP “troops” on the ground as well present a practical message to the traditional media.
5. Assemble an efficient political team for effective political organizing via the Victory operations thereby providing a strong support base for state party political operations.

I really like these five points as they’re laid out and I don’t have a real dog in the fight. May the best (most apt and qualified) man or woman win!

Sarah Palin would be a stellar candidate on all five counts.

She raised money, she recruited and supported excellent candidates, she welcomes the Tea Party with open arms and an open mind, she has beaten the media at its own game and has visited almost every state in the nation, meeting with local political organizing groups. Your problem is that she probably doesn't want the job. And who would after being treated so shabbily by elite Republican insiders?
No, you'll have to settle for second-best this time. Good luck with the search!

I'm not sure I agree with that list or calling Tea Parties conservative activist.
